Piggy Bank short filmfest to screen ‘Junk Girl’

Iranian animation ‘Junk Girl’ is slated to vie at the Piggy Bank International Short Film Festival in India.

Iranian animation ‘Junk Girl’ has been picked to vie at the Piggy Bank International Short Film Festival in India.

Directed by Shalale Kheiri and Mohammad Zare, the multi-award-winning Iranian animation will compete with more than 60 other short films from various countries.

The animation is about a doll girl made of junk, which is mistreated by others and forced to leave her city.

The flick’s story is inspired from a poem by Tim Burton titled ‘The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories’.

The 15-minute animation has so far gone on to win over 33 awards from multiple film festivals around the world.

Piggy Bank International Short Film Festival promotes both amateur and professional, independent films.

The event is to be launched on February 24-25, 2018 in the city of Jaipur.
